Description
The IEC Dissectible Transformer is a versatile tool for teaching transformer principles. It features a robust iron core (35x35mm section) with a clamped 'I' and 'U' to close the magnetic circuit. The standard set includes a mains-operated primary coil with an on/off switch, a removable mains cable, and a low-voltage, heavy-current tapped secondary coil.
Additional components include a durable spot welder, a heavy copper ring for induction heating (e.g., wax or solder melting), and a Thompson's ring. The heat-resistant, glass-filled nylon coil formers are unbreakable, and a plastic base protects work surfaces.
