Description
The IEC "Melde's Apparatus," formerly called the "Vibrator," horizontally vibrates a taut cord (1–2m) stretched along a bench and passed over a table edge with a weighted tension. The device's armature, with a hole at its tip, attaches to the cord.
The kit includes a bench clamp and an adjustable pulley on a rod to guide the cord parallel to the bench surface. When connected to a high-power signal generator, the armature vibrates at a set frequency. This creates tensioned cord patterns for studying frequency and wavelength.
