Solder Flux
Solder flux is a material used in the soldering process to improve solder flow and wetting and to remove oxidation from soldered surfaces. It removes impurities from the PCB prior to soldering and aids in the removal of oxides and other residues. The flux acts as a chemical cleaning agent to ensure a strong and durable bond between the soldered metal parts.
Solder flux comes in a variety of formulations, including rosin-based, water-soluble, and no-clean formulations. Each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages for different soldering applications.
