Description
The Raspberry Pi Camera Module is an add-on for the Raspberry Pi. It seamlessly connects to the Raspberry Pi via one of the small sockets on the boards upper surface. Using the dedicated CSI interface, purpose-built for camera interfacing, this board ensures high-speed data transfer, exclusively handling pixel data.
The board itself is tiny, at around 25mm x 23mm x 9mm. It also weighs just over 3g, making it perfect for mobile or other applications where size and weight are important. It connects to the Raspberry Pi by way of a short ribbon cable. The high quality Sony IMX219 image sensor has a native resolution of 8 megapixel.
