Description

The 4027 IC is a Dual J-K Flip/Flop that contains two independent J-K flip-flops in a single package. J-K flip-flops are essential sequential logic elements used to store one bit of information and enable clocked operations.

This Dual J-K Flip/Flop IC allows for the implementation of two separate flip-flops in a space-saving and convenient manner. Each flip-flop has J (set) and K (reset) inputs, along with clock (CLK) and complementary outputs (Q and Q'). By applying clock pulses, the flip-flops can change their state based on the input signals. Thus making them valuable for building counters, registers, and other sequential logic circuits.

With its dual flip-flop design and reliable performance, the 4027 IC finds applications in various digital systems, including microprocessors, memory units, and control circuits, where storing and manipulating binary data is required.

Features

  • Set-reset capability
  • Static flip-flop operation, retains state indefinitely with clock level either high or low
  • Medium speed operation - 16MHz (typical) clock toggle rate at 10V
  • Standardized, symmetrical output characteristics
  • 100% Tested for quiescent current at 20V
  • Maximum input current of 1µA at 18V over full package-temperature range, 100nA at 18V and 25°C
  • 5, 10 and 15V Parametric ratings
