Description

The ULN2003A is a Hex Darlington Driver IC featuring NPN transistor arrays. With its integrated design, it efficiently controls high-current loads such as relays, motors, and solenoids.

These Darlington arrays deliver both high voltage and high current, featuring seven open collector Darlington pairs with shared emitters in each array. Every channel is capable of handling 500 mA continuously and can manage peak currents of up to 600 mA. They come equipped with suppression diodes to accommodate inductive load applications, and their input and output pin arrangement simplifies the board layout.

These adaptable components find utility in a diverse array of load-driving scenarios, including solenoids, relays, DC motors, LED displays, filament lamps, thermal printheads, and high-power buffers.

Packaged in 16-pin plastic Dual In-line Packages (DIP), these devices incorporate a copper leadframe that effectively diminishes thermal resistance.

Features

  • Output current 500 mA per driver (600 mA peak)
  • Output voltage 50V
  • Integrated suppression diodes for inductive loads
  • Outputs can be paralleled for higher current
  • TTL/CMOS/PMOS/DTL compatible inputs
  • Inputs pinned opposite outputs to simplify layout
