Description

The Kitronik Discovery Kit for Raspberry Pi Pico (Pico Included) is an excellent introduction to microcontrollers, Python coding, and physical computing. The kit includes all of the components needed to complete the seven included experiments, as well as a large-format breadboard. The Pi Pico is also in the kit and comes pre-fitted with pin headers, so no soldering is required! The kit has sturdy reusable packaging which you can use to store it.

The seven experiments cover everything from the basics of using the board to more advanced concepts and the use of external electronics. The basic setup, simple coding, interrupts, threads, digital inputs, and analog and digital outputs are among the topics in the experiments.

The kit also includes a comprehensive guide booklet. The booklet explains the basic setup and how to complete each of the seven experiments. Each experiment includes detailed circuit diagrams, explanations, and a full code run-through, so you won't have to learn a lot of Python to get started.

Raspberry Pi Pico

The Kitronik Discovery Kit also includes the Raspberry Pi Pico board, a new low-cost, high-performance microcontroller. The board features a powerful new, Raspberry Pi-designed ARM-based dual-core chip-- the RP2040. The pico also features 64KB of internal RAM and support for up to 16MB of off-chip Flash. A wide range of flexible I/O options includes I2C, SPI, and Programmable I/O (PIO). These support endless possible applications for this small and affordable board.

MicroPython

You program the kit using MicroPython, a full Python 3 implementation for small embedded microcontrollers. You will create your code in the Thonny editor, which you can then save directly to the Pico via USB. Thonny is a Python Editor/IDE ideal to help beginners get up and running with Python coding as quickly as possible.

Power pack not required, as power is via the USB connection to the computer that the Thonny editor is running on.
