Description
The Alloy POE200LC belongs to Alloy's POE200 Series of PoE Media Converters. They support various types of Fast Ethernet copper-to-fiber media conversion. The series includes models that facilitate 10/100Mbps RJ-45 copper to 100Base-FX multimode fiber conversion with LC, SC, or ST connectors and a maximum link range of 2 kilometers. Additionally, the series offers 10/100Mbps RJ-45 copper to 100Base-FX single-mode fiber conversion with SC connectors for ranges of 20 or 40 kilometers. These features make the Alloy POE200LC and other models in the series versatile solutions for seamless and efficient network integration.
PoE
The POE200 Series Media Converters offer comprehensive PoE capabilities. As PSE devices, all models support signature sensing, power monitoring functions such as PD discovery, classification, and current limiting. Also PD power-out auto-detection, PD over and under current power protection, fault protection input, minimum load sensing, and PSE MDI power enable/disable. These models automatically detect PD PoE devices and power them up to a maximum of 15.4 watts over a UTP data cable. Then monitor the power supply, indicate operational and fault status via a comprehensive LED suite, and protect against power faults.

Fault Modes
The POE200 Series Converters support Far-end-Fault (FEF) mode via Link Fault Passthrough (LFP).
LFP enables the converters to monitor both copper and fiber RX ports for signal loss. If there is a loss of RX signal on one media port, the Converter will automatically disable the TX signal to the other media port. Thus conveying the link fault LED status.
With FEF mode, the Converter can prevent the loss of valuable data transmitted over an invalid link by halting the transmission of a link pulse to an LFP-capable Converter on the other end of the cable. The POE200 Series Converters' LFP and FEF features offer reliable and efficient monitoring and management of the network's signal integrity.
