Description
The PASCO PASPort Salinity Sensor works with the 10X Salinity Sensor Probe to measure salinity, conductivity, and temperature. The sensor determines salinity based on electrical conductivity. It accurately measures the overall dissolved salt content in an aqueous solution. The sensor has a built-in calculation to compensate for the change in conductivity due to temperature change which is based on the Practical Salinity Scale (PSS).
NOTE: PASCO PASPort sensors require one of the PASPort interfaces in order to use them.
Features
- Measure salinity based on electrical conductivity
- Built-in calibration to compensate for changes in conductivity due to temperature changes
- Explore the salinity of local water sources
- Explore the interrelationship of salinity, temperature and conductivity
- Measure the change in salinity of saltwater as the water evaporates
