Description
The PASPort Hand Grip Heart Rate Sensor is suitable for measuring heart rate before, during, and after exercise or while a person is resting. The design allows students to measure heart rate without the restriction and inconvenience of belts or clips. Extra-long cords allow students to freely increase their physical activity in order to determine exercise heart rate.
To measure heart rate at rest or during exercise, simply grip the handles, and the sensor measures the number of times the cardiac muscle contracts per minute. Students can use this sensor to compare resting and exercise heart rate. High school and university biology and physiology students can measure and compare resting, exercise, and recovery heart rates to determine physical fitness levels. Use the PASPort Hand Grip Heart Rate Sensor to add technology to AP Biology Lab 10: Physiology of the Circulatory System.
NOTE: The PASCO PASPort sensors require one of the PASPort interfaces in order to use them.

- ‘Plug and play’ once connected to a PASPORT interface
- Three LED’s show the status of the sensor; amber for standby, green for acquiring heartbeat; and red, which flashes in time with the user’s heartbeat once acquired
