Description
The PASCO PASPort Force Platform PS-2141 is a mechanical device designed to measure the ground reaction forces and moments involved in human movements. It measures forces applied to the platform and is capable of measuring large forces applied over a wide area.
The PASCO PASPort Force Platform measures the force exerted on any object in contact with it. You can use the Force Platform to measure the static weight of a structure or individual, even the dynamic, vertical force produced while moving or jumping. To measure vertical force, this platform can be positioned on the floor or tabletop, and to measure horizontal force, this platform is mounted to the wall.
Typical applications include: determining “hang time” by jumping off the platform, then landing on it; using two Force Platforms to investigate Newton’s 3rd Law; using with a motion sensor and bouncing ball to compare the impulse and change in momentum as the ball collides with the platform; and measuring the normal force on a person riding in an elevator
