Description
The IEC Kinetic Theory and Gas Apparatus is a durable device visually demonstrating molecular movement in gases. It features a strong DC motor driving a vibrating platform inside a scaled acrylic tube with 100 small stainless steel balls.
As motor speed varies (simulating gas heating), the agitation of the balls changes. A light foam disc "floats" at a certain height on the agitated balls, and a second, heavier disc can be added or swapped to observe the relationship between floating height (gas volume) and disc weight (gas pressure).
