Description
This Blue & White 16x2 LCD features white text displayed on a blue background.
Perfect for a standalone project, the 4 directional buttons, and select button allow you basic control over the LCD and Raspberry Pi with only a bit of coding to integrate it.
Coming as a complete kit, including the PCB, components and LCD. This means that the kit will need to be assembled, which can be done in about half an hour. The kit also has an extra tall 26-pin header so the Pi Plate clears the USB ports and Ethernet jack.
Adafruit has provided simple python code and a supporting library for the Pi Plate, in order to allow full use of the components, including the LCD screen and the 5 keypad buttons.
Currently the library only supports turning the backlight on or off. This is due to the I2C expander not currently supporting PWM output.
