Description

Adafruit 1.8" TFT Shield, powered by a ST7735R TFT Driver. It has 128x160 colour pixels in full 18-bit colour, which when combined with a good refresh rate make the screen itself a great addition.

The shield adds a small number of features on top of the good quality screen including; a 3.3V voltage regulator and 3V/5V level shifter so it is able to work with 5v Arduino Microcontrollers.

The spare space on the board is taken up by a 5-way navigation switch, used to provide feedback to the Arduino. It also includes a micro SD card slot which can be used to store images or video. You can then display this media on the screen.

The shield is fully supported with a data sheet and an open-source library. The library can be used for a number of applications common to TFT screens.

The kit itself comes fully assembled; the only bit of solder work which needs to be done is to attach the headers to the board, this allows it to be mounted on top of the Arduino.
