Description
The IEC Mass of Electron Apparatus features a 'Magic Eye' tube mounted on a base with terminals for heater and plate voltages. When viewed through the tube's end, a fan of electrons is visible.
An air-cored solenoid placed over the tube creates a magnetic field when current is applied. This cause the electron fan to curve. By measuring this curvature, users can approximate the mass of an electron.
