Description
The MAX9814 Electret Mic Amplifier with AGC is a fully assembled, high-quality board featuring a 20-20KHz electret microphone. Powered by the Maxim MAX9814 chip, this module is specially designed for amplifying audio in unpredictable sound environments.
The built-in Automatic Gain Control (AGC) adjusts audio levels automatically, reducing loud sounds to prevent clipping while amplifying quiet, distant sounds. This makes it ideal for applications requiring consistent audio capture in changing environments without manual adjustments.
The MAX9814 chip offers configurable options:
- Default max gain of 60dB, adjustable to 40dB or 50dB via jumpers.
- Adjustable Attack/Release ratios: 1:4000 (default), 1:2000, or 1:500.
The amplifier outputs a 2Vpp max signal on a 1.25V DC bias, compatible with ADCs up to 3.3V input. For Line Input use, add a 1-100uF blocking capacitor in series (100uF recommended for optimal performance).
